Fairbury – Mark E. Runyon, 63 0f Fairbury died at 8:08 pm, Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 11 am, Monday, March 4, 2024 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, with Pastor Jerry Good officiating. Burial will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the American Red Cross.
Visitation will be 1:00pm to 3:00pm, Sunday, March 3, 2024 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury; and one hour prior to the service on Monday also at the funeral home in Fairbury.
Mr. Runyon was born on July 29, 1960 in Ironton, MO; the son of Edwin and Fern (Stanfill) Runyon. He married Teresa L. Toohill on December 3, 1983 in Chatsworth. His wife, Teresa survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include one daughter, Jennifer (Steven) Schove of Fairbury; three sons, Justin Runyon, Jonathan (Cindy) Runyon, Jordan Runyon all of Fairbury; four grandchildren, Joseph, Nataleigh, Carter Runyon and Henry Schove; two sisters, Maureen (Nick) Eggenberger; Joan (Eric) Johnson both of Saunemin; one brother, Michael Runyon of Pontiac.
Mark was a 1978 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and was employed by the City of Fairbury for over 44 years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge in Fairbury and served as a Livingston County Board Member since 2008.
For nearly 50 years Mark made the annual trip to Indianapolis to watch the legendary Indianapolis 500 race. He loved this race and as his family grew, they were all included in this yearly event. He enjoyed traveling-vacationing especially cruises usually two per year. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan and in baseball loved the St. Louis Cardinals. In his spare time he enjoyed researching family genealogy, but above all he loved spending time with his family who will cherish the memories and love they have for him and will deeply miss him.
