Chenoa - Mark White, 65, of Chenoa, died April 11, 2025 at his residence in Chenoa, after living with cancer for several years.
Mark, known to many as "44," was a life-long resident of Chenoa and a 1978 graduate of Chenoa High School. He was employed at PTC Alliance - Fairbury for over 20 years.
Mark was born February 8, 1960 in Normal; a son to Franklin "Cubby" and Shirley (Newkirk) White. He married Carol Sipe on May 27, 2000 in Chenoa. He is survived by his wife, Carol. They would have celebrated 25 years of marriage in May.
He is also survived by his daughter, Morgan (Kelsey) Hobbs of Harrisburg, IL; and his little buddies, Brody and Toby.
In addition, he is survived by his brother, Gary White of Chenoa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin "Cubby" and Shirley White.
Mark loved cars and racing. He'll be remembered by many for his blue Trans Am. He said he would watch any race "from Fairbury to Formula 1" and was proud to have driven on three NASCAR tracks.
He was also known for being a passionate Bears fan, making his feelings about referees well known.
The family thanks Dr. Kumar and the staff at Illinois Cancer Care, Bloomington for 7 years of compassionate care, Chenoa Pharmacy, Gentiva Hospice, and the amazing family and friends who walked this journey with them.
A celebration of life - open house will be held at the Pontiac Elks Lodge on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mark requested that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
He would always tell people as they were leaving, "drive fast." Now it's our turn. Drive fast, 44.
