Colfax – Marlene Hehl, 80, of Colfax passed away at 6:42pm, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Heartland Health Care, Normal.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Wiley Cemetery, Colfax. Following the graveside there will be a celebration of life for Marlene at 11:00am at Church of Christ, Uniting in Lexington. Pastor Jan Proeber will be officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4-6:00pm, on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax and from 9:30 to 10:00am on Saturday also at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Church of Christ, Uniting in Lexington.
Marlene was born April 23, 1931 in Chicago the daughter of Aubon and Iva Eaden Harrell.
She married Ralph Hehl on October 29, 1949 in Chicago. He survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Debra (Ric) Onken of Colfax; one son Larry Hehl of Colfax; grandchildren, Jason Andrew Onken, Rebecca Lynn (Rob) Conner, Eric Daniel Hehl, Krista Marlene Ziegenhorn, Leah Michelle Hehl, and Josh (Holly) Mathis; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Norah, Ethan, Briana, Brooklynn and Abigail; sisters, Wanda Nordine of Dwight, Linda (Richard) Adams of San Antonio, FL and Sheila Yoder of Valparaiso, IN; and brother-in-law, Elmer Hehl of Champaign.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Barbara.
Marlene attended Church of Christ, Uniting in Lexington.
She retired from Walgreens after 40 years, last working as a pharmacy tech.
She was a devoted wife of 62 years and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marlene was a big part of her children's and grandchildren's lives and they will miss her deeply.
