Obituary
Marlene Mildred Sanders, 82, Chatsworth, died at 1:16 pm Monday, June 15, 2015 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, June 19, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth with Pastor Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Twp. Cemetery, Wing.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday and 9:00 to 9:45 am Friday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth; Chatsworth Twp. Library or to the Community Cancer Center, Normal.
Mrs. Sanders was born August 16, 1932 in Peoria, IL the daughter of Delmar and Azalea Willis Hirth. She married Vendell Lee Sanders on June 9, 1957 in Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2012.
Survivors include her children, Glenn (Teresa) Sanders, Griffith, IN, Cynthia (Jeff) Ifft, Fairbury, Keith (Kristin) Sanders, Rock Island, Bruce Sanders, Chatsworth, 7 grandchildren, Brooke & Eric Sanders, Aaron (Courtney) Ifft, Craig (Colleen Harrington) Ifft & Ryan Ifft, Paul & Meredith Sanders, 4 great grandchildren, Janessa & Jaida Wheatly, Rozalyn & Savannah Ifft, 2 sisters, Lois Deputy, Tucson, AZ, Kate Smith, Moline, and 1 brother, Bill (Margaret) Hirth, Sebring, FL.
She is preceded in death by her infant sister, Betty.
Mrs. Sanders taught elementary education for over 30 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chatsworth for over 50 years. She loved to read, bake and spending time with her grandchildren.
