Obituary

Marshall E. Ruhlander, 75, Pontiac and formerly of Fairbury, died at 5:30 am Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at his residence in Pontiac surrounded by his beloved wife, family and friends.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date.  The family suggests memorials be given to OSF Hospice, Bloomington or a charity of the donor's choice.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.

Marshall was born July 16, 1944 in Fairbury, IL the son of George P. and Janet Louise Jenkins Ruhlander.  He married Nancy Reynolds on April 1, 1994 in Pontiac.  She survives in Pontiac.

Other survivors include one son, Scott (Dee) Ruhlander, Fairbury, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Gordon (Barb) Ruhlander, Kansas City, KS, one sister, Carol Drach, Fairbury and his best friend, Dave Haag, Pontiac.

Marshall was a heavy equipment operator at Vulcan Materials for many years.  He was a member of the Operating Engineers union, local 150, Chicago.  He enjoyed playing slow and fastpitch softball, hunting deer and squirrel with his son, Scott and fishing with his best friend, Dave.

Marshall was loved and will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends.
