Marvin L. Onken, 77 of Piper City; died at 8:53 pm, on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.

Cremation rites have been accorded with services to be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Piper City, Fire Department.

Mr. Onken was born September 23, 1944 in Fairbury; the son of Herman and Ethel (Replogle) Onken.  He married Sandra Kurtenbach on December 4, 1966 in Chatsworth.  His wife, Sandy survives in Piper City, IL.

Other survivors include his son Jeff (Carla) Onken of Lafayette, IN; three grandchildren, Dr. Caeb Onken of Indianapolis, IN; Cameron Onken, Kyle Onken both of Lafayette, IN; and one sister, Arlene Brucker of Piper City, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, Shirley Ann Onken, two brothers, Bernard and Merle Onken, and one sister, Carolyn Woodward.

Marvin was a farmer in Piper City area for over 46 years and bought and sold farming equipment throughout the mid-west. Marvin will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
