Mary A. (Jenkins) Bash, 86, Chenoa died at 2:06 pm, Monday, May 31, 2010 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
A graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Friday, June 4, 2010 at Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa. Full military rites will be conducted by the Chenoa VFW Post #8350. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of services.
Mary was born September 20, 1923 in Chenoa Twp. the daughter of William and Ochla (Howell) Jenkins. She married Walter W. Bash on May 8, 1959 in Fort Riley, KS. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1972.
Survivors include one brother; Gene (Barb) Jenkins, Foley, AL, one sister in-law Rita Jenkins, Towanda, IL and seven nieces and nephews; Stephen Jenkins, Paul Jenkins, Becky Weise, Jan Schaffer, Jon Jenkins, Kay Shaw and Lyn Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Glen Jenkins, John "Jack" Jenkins and one niece; Kim (Jenkins) Nussbaum.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.
Mary graduated from Chenoa High School and was a retired Master Sergeant in the US Army, serving in WWII, Vietnam and Korean Conflict. In her spare time she loved to spend time gardening.
