Mary Lou Dixon, 90, Fairbury died at 9:20am Friday, February 7, 2014 at her residence in Fairbury. A memorial service will be held at 7:00pm Friday, February 14, 2014 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Inurnment will take place in Cropsey Twp. Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday also at the memorial home. The family suggest memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury or the Advocate BroMenn Hospice. Mrs. Dixon was born February 9, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, IL the daughter of Thomas and Grace McKee Hughey. She married Stanton Dixon in September 30, 1961 in Benton, IL. He survives in Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa. Also surviving is one daughter, Pat Convis, Fairbury, one son, Robert Kirgan Jr., Flanagan, two step daughters, Dimples (Jack) Wheat, Salem, IL, Linda (Jerry) Stuber, Centralia, IL, three grandchildren, Mike (Yvonne) Maffett, Pontiac, IL, Matt (Paula) Maffett, Melvin, Mary Maffett, Fairbury, nine great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Dixon was a homemaker and had taught Sunday school at the Church of God, Forrest for many years. She was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
