Mary Kumler Hoffman, 99 of Anchor died July 29, 2007 at 7:55AM at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 from 5-7:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.
Memorials may be made to Colfax United Methodist Church, Ridgeview Education Foundation or the donor's choice of charity.
Mary was born July 16, 1908 in Bellflower the daughter of G. Hunter and June Reinhart Kumler. She married Aaron O. Hoffman on January 20, 1934 in Danville. He died Jauary 6, 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Brownlee (Alan) Pegram of Mt. Pulaski and Jane Ellen (Leigh) Conover of Quincy; four grandchildren, Alan (Gail) Brownlee of Gibson City, Mark (Julie) Brownlee of Rural Saybrook, Megan Conover and Erin Conover both of Quincy; three great-grandchildren; one sister Ruth Bidner of Glendale, AZ. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law David Brownlee, four brothers and one sister.
Mary was a member of the Anchor and Colfax United Methodist Churches. She graduated from Bellflower Township High School in 1926 and received her bachelors from the University of Illinois in Urbana.
She enjoyed writing to her family and friends and playing Bridge.
