Mary Lou King, 82, Fairbury, died at 9:45 am Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at her residence, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Twp. Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 am Saturday also at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. King was born August 10, 1932 in Forrest, IL the daughter of Mano and Anna Metz Harms. She married Richard C. King on July 11, 1953 in Forrest, IL. He died on November 19, 1997.
Survivors include one daughter, LuAnn Zerwekh, Eden Prairie, MN; two sons, Michael (Rita) King, Sun Prairie, WI; Jeffrey (Mickey) King, Morton, IL; six grandchildren, Alex, Spencer, Michael and Patrick King, Erin (Dan) Trynoski, and Molly (Zach) Gleason; three brothers, Sam (Laverne) Harms, Lexington, IL; Edwin (Thelma) Harms, Forrest, IL; Donald (Patricia) Harms, Fairbury, IL; one sister, Verna Ripsch, Morris, IL.
She is preceded by four brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. King was a 1950 graduate of Saunemin High School and had worked as a secretary at Gilman High School for twenty six years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
She loved to bake and she loved to open her home to her family and friends.
