Obituary
Mary Kuntz, 92, of Fairbury, died December 1, 2011 at 11:35pm at Fairview Haven Nursing Home in Fairbury.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 from 9:00-10:30am at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11:00am St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury with the Reverend Father Scott Archer officiating. Burial will be in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Strawn.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairview Haven, Dominy Memorial Library or American Diabetes Association.
Mary was born November 2, 1919, in Strawn, the daughter of Jerome and Teresa (Crawford) Trainor. She graduated from Illinois State Normal University in 1941. She married Harold Kuntz on February 12, 1949 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Strawn. He preceded her in death on August 1, 2007.
Surviving are her daughter Kathleen (Richard) Pollock of Bloomington ; two grandchildren, Brian (Jody) Pollock of Crystal Lake and Kristen (Paul) Winter of Washington. There are five great grandchildren, Stacey and Jack Pollock and Jacob, Emmalyn and Noah Winter.
She was also preceded in death by daughter, Paula Kuntz on August 20, 2009.
Mary was a retired teacher having taught in Elkhart, Effingham, Mendota, and Fairbury. She was a member of St. John's Altar and Rosary Society, a former member of the Shakespeare Club, SLSC, the Livingston County Retired Teacher's, the Indian Creek Country Club and volunteered for the Meals on Wheels.
