Mary Cordelia Schmidtgall, 92, Fairbury, passed away at 6:03 am Sunday June 25, 2023, peacefully at her home.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, is in charge of arrangements. Services will be held Friday, June,30, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. You may greet the family from 9:30 a.m. -10:45 a.m. with her funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Mary was born May 8, 1931, in Streator, IL. Daughter of John and Mary (Martin) Wheaton. She married Leroy Schmidtgall on August 2, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2014.

She is survived by her two children; daughter Debra Henson Fairbury; son Johnny Schmidtgall Fairbury; also, her four grandchildren, Jamie Foster, Des Moines, IA; Jeremy Henson, Fairbury; Nicholas (Rachael) Henson, Lexington; and Michelle Schmidtgall, Fairbury; She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Foster; Zavier Henson; Natalie, Nadia, and Noelle Henson; Zachary, Evan, and Isiaha Flores.

Also preceding her in death; One son, Wayne Schmidtgall: and one son-in-law Jimmy Henson; Her parents; two brothers, George and John Jr. Wheaton; one sister Emma Hetherington.

Mary was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury. She had a great love for her Lord and Savior, family, and friends. Her passions in life were for horses, pomeranians, and gardening. Mary's beautiful warm and loving smile will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.
