Obituary
Mary L. Smith, 99, Overland Park, KS and formerly of Fairbury, died at 9:00 pm Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the Olathe Medical Park Hospice Facility, Olathe, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. The family suggest memorials be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mrs. Smith was born December 7, 1915 in Sadorus, IL the daughter of Corwin and Edna O'Neal. She married Charles Smith on April 11, 1936 in Watseka, IL. He preceded her in death in December of 1969.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Marilyn (Michael) Sharp, Bakersfield, CA; 1 daughter-in-law, Judy Smith, Fairbury; 5 grandchildren, Dawn Kestner, Wendy Smith, April Smith, Brady Sharp, and Kelly Sharp; 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by 1 son, Edward Smith; 1 grandson, Jeffery Kuipers; 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Smith was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge in Gilman and Milford. She was a soloist for the Rebekah State Assembly and served as secretary for 10 years.
