Obituary
Mary Oline Stein, 95, Fairbury, died at 745 pm Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Paulette Cott officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sibley.
Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 pm Saturday at the memorial home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Cropsey United Methodist Church or Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Mrs. Stein was born January 19, 1917 in Springfield, IL the daughter of Henry L. and Lillie Belle Murray Richardson. She married John F. Stein on February 11, 1944. He died on April 16, 1994.
Surviving is one son, Donald H. (Norma) Stein, Loami, IL; three daughters; Lois E. Farr, Canton, IL, Sue C. (Jim) Naffziger, Pekin, IL, Cynthia J. Gierich, Tremont, IL, seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Stein received both her Bachelor and Master's degree of Education from Illinois State University, Normal. She taught at LeRoy Grade School, Isaac Walton and Westview Grade Schools in Fairbury. She was a member of the Cropsey United Methodist Church, a former 4-H leader in Sibley, and a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association.
