Mary Donna Vail, 92, of Bloomington, died at 8:46 am Monday, August 12, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be 2 to 3 pm, prior to the funeral service also at the funeral home in Fairbury on Thursday.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Lupus Foundation of America.

Mrs. Vail was born February 1, 1927 in Germanville Twp., Chatsworth; the daughter of Leslie and Clara (Brown) Schade. She married Melvin O. Vail on June 8, 1957 in Joliet. Her husband, Melvin preceded her in death on June 7, 1972.

Her parents, two brothers, Leslie "Buck" Schade and Warren Schade and one sister, Joann Schade also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Allan Deanne (Susan) Vail of Nibley, UT; two daughters, Vicki (Doug) Maurer of Bloomington; Tami (David) Koch of Heyworth; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Donna was a graduate of Chatsworth High School and later attended Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved being surrounded by her grandchildren. Her compassionate heart will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
