Mary Weakman, 77, of Fairbury, passed away at 5:38pm, May 23, 2024, at her residence.

Cremation has been accorded by Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Burial will take place at a later date.

Mary was born May 20, 1947, in Bloomington, the daughter of Donavan and Virginia (Thoennes) Gaines. She married Donald Weakman on May 24, 1969. He died March 18, 2024.

Surviving are her sons, Matthew (Theresa Benjamin) Weakman of Essex and Daniel (Sharee O'Donnel) Weakman of Dixon; grandchildren, Rory, and Mallory Weakman; brothers, Gary (Gayle), Bloomington, Jeff (Rhoda), Champaign, Richard (Catherine), Orlando, FL, and David (Susan), Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary was an avid quilter who had a strong belief in child development.  She formerly operated a Montessori School for several years.
