Colfax – Matthew John Schaefer, 52, of Colfax, passed away at 6:24pm, June 5, 2022, at his residence.

Cremation has been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center, Normal

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.

Matthew was born May 13, 1970, in Normal, the son of John Conrad and Caroline Sue (Rainwater) Schaefer. He married Michelle (Neal) on May 20, 1995. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother Caroline Schaefer of Colfax; step-children, Jason and Andrew Harding both of Bloomington; step-grandchildren, Sofie and Ethan Harding; niece, Alexa Schaefer of Savoy; and brother, Kenneth (Cyndi) Schaefer.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Matthew was a comic artist.
