Obituary
Maurice L. "Bud" Johnson, 90, Fairbury, died at 3:50pm Friday, November 1, 2013 at Asta Care Center of Pontiac.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with full military rites.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday also at the memorial home. The family suggest memorials be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mr. Johnson was born March 4, 1923 in Fairbury, IL the son of Willis and Dora Smith Johnson. He married Hazel Friedman on October 9, 1946. She survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are one daughter, Jeannette Maurer, Forrest, IL, one son Douglas (Donna) Johnson, Pontiac, IL, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
He is preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, one son, one grandchild and one great great grandchild.
Mr. Johnson served in the United States Army. He was a retired Fairbury police officer and a member of the Bloomington Shriners; Shriners of North America; Tarbolton Masonic Lodge #351, Fairbury; American Legion John Joda Post #54; Disabled American Veterans.
