Max Gene Currington, 85 of Oglesby, died at 11:35pm, Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Cornell American Legion. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, has charge of arrangements.
Max was born on January 25, 1934 in Fairbury, a son to Tom and Fern Williams Currington. They preceded him in death.
Survivors include one brother, Duane (Diana) Currington of Pontiac; one sister, Shirley (Charlie) Barnett of Inverness, FL; one niece, Crystal Carpenter and two great-nieces all of Florida.
He graduated from Fairbury High School Class of 1952. Max served in the US Army from 1952-1954. He also served as a Livingston County Sheriff's Deputy before moving to Oglesby and serving their community as a police officer. He later drove semi-trucks for many years.
