Obituary

Merlin F. Lage, 90, of Colfax passed away at 4:50 am, Sunday, August 22, 2010, at Heritage Manor in Colfax.

Funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor. Pastor Stephen Goodwin will be officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Anchor, where the Davis-Kerber American Legion will be performing military honors.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Merlin was born June 10, 1920, in Anchor Township, the son of Henry W. and Anna Beecher Lage.
He married Helen Ficken on March 2, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lawndale Township. She survives in Colfax.

Also surviving are one brother Leo (Dorothy) Lage of Gibson City and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.

Merlin was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Anchor.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving overseas during WWII. After serving his country he came home to farm in the Anchor area from 1946-1983.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church or the donor's choice of charity.
