Mildred A. Wahls, 93 of Chenoa died at 8:16 am, Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be 11 am, Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa; with Pastor Jeremy Latzke officiating. Interment will follow in Chenoa Twp. Cemetery, Chenoa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 also at the funeral home in Chenoa.

The family suggest memorials be directed to Chenoa Fire Department or St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa.

Mrs. Wahls was born January 19, 1922 in Lexington the daughter of Edward and Icie (Hardman) Leach. She married Eldon E. Wahls on April 9, 1944 in Lexington. Her husband preceded her in death on June 18, 2014.

Her parents, two sisters, Bernadine Moncelle and June Kiper, an infant brother, Clarke Leach and brother Delend Leach also preceded her in death.

Survivors include one son, Greg (Sharon) Wahls of Chenoa; two grandchildren, David (Elizabeth) Wahls of Chenoa; and Dana (Joe) Harner of Seattle, WA; one sister in-law, Charlotte Leach of Bloomington and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred was a 1940 graduate of Lexington High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa and the McLean County Home Extension for over 50 years. She was a past member of St. Paul's Lutheran Ladies Aid, Chenoa; Chenoa Garden Club; Royal Neighbors and the Rebekah Lodge both of Lexington.

Mildred enjoyed helping Eldon on the farm, her flower garden, quilting and helping others in need. She loved spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
