Fairbury – Minnie G. Foltz, 82, of Fairbury passed away at 8:34AM on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Her Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 10:30am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fairbury, Rev. Scott Archer will be officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Friday, December 21, 2007 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the reciting of the Rosary at 4:45pm.
Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery, Fairbury.
Memorials may be made to the church, St. Francis Medical Center, or the donor's choice.
Minnie was born July 2, 1925 in Centralia a daughter of Alois and Justine Ostrudka Lukaseck. She married Herbert Max Foltz on August 6, 1949 in Centralia. Surviving are her husband of Fairbury; daughter Patricia Foltz, Normal, son Richard (Linda) Foltz, North Miami Beach, FL; two sisters, Frances (August) Aydt and Helen (Harold) Pugh, both of Centralia; three grandchildren, Brandon, Kamara and Alayna Foltz, North Miami Beach, FL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Erwin, Rudolph, Henry, George and infants Alois and Leo; sisters Elizabeth Hatcher, Mary Deadmond, Rose Smith, Lucille Spinner and Theresa Lukaseck.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was very active in the Altar and Rosary Society, and sang in the church choir.
She received her education in a country school, and worked as a live-in housekeeper and in a hospital preparing meals. When her children were small, she offered daycare in her home and then joined friends in operating a nursery school. Later she worked at The Fashion Shop in Fairbury.
Minnie was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed. She adored her grandchildren who lived too far away, and she had a special place in her heart for a dog named Dakota.
