Nancy L. Ifft, 80, Fairbury, died at 3:43 pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
Her funeral will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury with Pastor Daryl Evans officiating. Burial will be in Avoca Twp. Cemetery, rural Fairbury. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday and 1:00 to 1:45 pm Thursday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Fairbury Echoes Museum or the American Red Cross of the Heartland. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.
Nancy was born September 4, 1937 in Glasgow, KY the daughter of A. Gordon and Georgie Mae Houchens Pitcock. She married Arnold V. Ifft on April 28, 1957 in Fairbury. He survives in Fairbury.
Also surviving are their children, Jeff (Cindy) Ifft, Dede (John) Traub, both of Fairbury, Eric (Barbara) Ifft, Morton, Alan (Teressa) Ifft, Highland, IL, twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one brother, Terry (Linda) Pitcock, San Antonio, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Nancy was a homemaker and farm wife who volunteered her time endlessly. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Fairbury and was the children's librarian at Dominy Memorial Library for 21 years. She received Fairbury's Citizen of the Year award in 1990 and continued to volunteer her time until her final days.
