Nancy J. Yentes, 77, of Decatur formerly of Gibson City passed away at 4:15 pm, Monday, June 22, 2009 at Heartland Nursing Home, Decatur.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a memorial service to be held at 11 am, Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Colfax United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Yentes officiating. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. A private family inurnment will take place in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Morton, IL at a later date.
Nancy was born June 29, 1931 in Pekin, the daughter of John and Gladys (Fluegel) Garmers. She married Wayne A. Yentes in 1950. He passed away October 27, 1980.
Survivors include one daughter; Marcy Ford, Decatur, one son; Bruce (Diane) Yentes, Colfax, one sister; Mary (Don) Blair, Metamora, three grandchildren; Kimberly (Dave) Batthauer, Rebecca (Jake) Briscoe, and Todd Carlson, four step grandchildren; A.T. Watson, Clayton Watson, Sarah Watson, and Serene (Kevin) Luta, eight great grandchildren; Madison, Will, Ian, and Olivia Batthauer, Caleb, Emma, and Aubrey Briscoe, and Taylor Carlson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Jack Garmers, one sister; Elizabeth Eggleston.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to American Cancer Society or Colfax United Methodist Church.
