Norbert A. Kokotek, MD, 82, passed away Labor Day, September 1, 2008 after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife and soul mate Jeanette Mazur Kokotek and sons, Kenneth Kokotek and Michael Kokotek, daughters Mary Kokotek and Rosanne Kokotek Hartman, 17 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Dr. Kokotek was born Nov. 29, 1925 in Chicago to Anton & Helen Kokotek. He served 3 ½ years with the 86th Blackhawk Division during WWII. He completed pre-med at Loyola University in Chicago and graduated from Loyola – Rush Medical School in 1952, where he met and married Jeanette. Dr. Kokotek established a general practice in Skokie, IL for 20 years. He then moved to Fairbury, IL and practiced from 1973 – 1980. At the age of 58 he became board certified to practice medicine in the State of Florida and practiced for 3 years at the Lake Seminole Hospital Emergency room, retiring in 1983. The family will receive friends Monday, September 8, 2008 from 9:00 to 10:45 am at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Fairbury will full military rites conducted by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion posts.
