Norma Jean Fosdick, 84 of Fairbury, passed away at 7:25 am Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Goldwater Care, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the First Baptist Church, Fairbury. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and from 9:30 to 10:15 am on Saturday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the First Baptist Church, Fairbury; Goldwater Care, Pontiac; or OSF Hospice.
Norma was born June 28, 1939 in McLeansboro, IL; the daughter of Harley and Wilma Hutchcraft Martin. She married Franklin J. Fosdick on November 4, 1956 in Fairbury. He survives in Fairbury.
Other survivors include two daughters, Carol Bergfield, Champaign, IL, Mary Beth (Steve) Crews, Fairbury, IL, three sisters, Mary (Bill) Decker, Grand Rivers, KY, Connie Aberle, Benton, KY and LaVerne Aberle, Chatsworth, IL. She had five grandchildren: Tyler (Cynthia) Bergfield, Crystal Bergfield, Lee (Jennifer) Bergfield, Ramie (Jacob) Flegel, and Devin (Callie) Crews and 5 great grandchildren: Lena, Logan, Omi, Maddox, and Mila.
She is preceded in death by an infant son, Harley Ernest Fosdick, a grandson, Jake Crews, brother, Harold Martin and sisters, Deloris Meiss and Geraldine Wiles.
Norma formerly worked at Steidinger Tires, Fairbury for 25 years and later at Bluestem Bank, Fairbury until her retirement.
She loved playing bridge and was involved in many bridge clubs. She was an avid Chicago Cubs baseball fan and enjoyed getting a busload of family and friends to go up to the games. She loved her family and friends. She always enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She was known for her angel food cakes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury. Norma was known for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh.
