Norma M. Sutter, 75, Cooksville died at 5:40 am Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Colfax.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Union Church of Cooksville with the Rev. Mark Marshall and Rev. Dan Jassman officiating. Entombment will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax and noon to 12:45 pm Friday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Union Church of Cooksville or to the Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.

Mrs. Sutter was born May 30, 1934 in Anchor, IL the daughter of Edward and Jessie Reinhart Meiners. She married Larry Sutter on May 20, 1956 in Anchor, IL. He survives in Cooksville.

Also surviving is one daughter, Kelly (Mike) Brown, Bloomington, one son Matt (Jackie) Sutter, Greenwood, IN, one sister, Rose (Kenneth Dale) Orendorff, Colfax, one sister-in-law, Ruth Meiners, Anchor, and six grandchildren, Robbie and Stephanie Brown and Tyler, Emily, Katelyn and Kaleb Sutter.

She is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Sutter was a member of the Union Church of Cooksville. She was a 1952 graduate of Octavia High School. Attended nursing school in Champaign and then worked as a nurse for twenty years. After 20 years in the nursing field she went back to school and graduated from Illinois State University with a B.S., Education. She taught special education for twenty years before retiring in 2004.
