Obituary
N.E. "Hap" DeFries, 82 of Fairbury, passed away at 8:50 am, Friday, March 4, 2011 at his residence in Fairbury.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
Hap was born October 4, 1928 in Streator the son of Henry and Margaret (Norton) DeFries. He married Barbara Joan Steidinger.
Surviving are three sons; Paul DeFries, Orlando, FL, C. Jon (Brenda) DeFries, and Alan (Peggy) DeFries, both of Fairbury; one daughter; Maggie (George) Miller, Menifee, California; six grandchildren, Amy (Joe) Randazzo, Eric DeFries, Leslie DeFries, Angie DeFries, Erin (Cort) Bouldin and Matt (Caylee) DeFries; four great grandchildren.
Hap was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Fairbury. He had many vocations in life one of which was that he owned and operated Hap's Drive –In, Fairbury.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Brian J. Munz Safety Complex, Fairbury.
