Olive "Sis" Lucille Stephens, 94, Fairbury died at 6:20 pm Monday, April 5, 2010 at Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 8, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 10:00 to 10:45 am Thursday at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury or to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
Mrs. Stephens was born June 12, 1915 in Forrest, IL the daughter of Mano and Anna Metz Harms. She married Vernon L. Stephens on January 2, 1940 in Chenoa, IL. He died on May 26, 2001.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Stephens, Fairbury, Keith (Barbara) Stephens, Columbia, MO, one daughter, Cheryl (Dan) Rork, Pontiac, IL, four grandchildren, Scott (Joyce) Stephens, Randall (Wendi) Stephens, Brad (Rachel Cohen) Stephens and Danielle (Steve) Reichman, five great grandchildren, Libby and Carly Stephens, Crosby Stephens, Connor and Cohen Reichman, two sisters, Verna Ripsch, Morris, IL, Mary Lou King, Fairbury, IL, four brothers, Sam (LaVerne) Harms, Lexington, IL, Willis (Mildred) Harms, Pontiac, IL, Edwin (Thelma) Harms, Forrest, IL, and Donald (Patricia) Harms, Fairbury, IL.
She is preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Jan Stephens, three brothers, and one sister.
Sis was a homemaker, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury, the Country Domestic Science Club, Fairbury and the Silver League.
