Opal M. Bricker, 96 of Fairbury passed away at 4:20 am, Saturday, April 4, 2009 at her residence in Fairbury.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Spencer Homan officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday, April 7, 2009 also at the memorial home in Fairbury and one hour prior to services on Wednesday.
Opal was born February 12, 1913 in Chicago the daughter of John and Rosina (Schleder) Potts. She married Dale H. Bricker on June 22, 1935 in Chicago. He passed away December 26, 1983
Survivors include her children; Ella (John) Bellot, rural Saunemin, David (Diane) Bricker, Dwight, Garnet (Jim) Potts, Somerset, KY, Sandra (Charlie) Goembel, Strawn, fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
Opal and Dale owned and operated Bricker Drug Stores in Fairbury and Dwight for nearly 25 years. She was an avid horse racing fan and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss her deeply. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of her caregivers over the past year. Opal was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairbury.
