Obituary
Ossie B. Smith, 76, of Anchor, passed away at 6:00 pm, Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his residence in Anchor.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a private family service will take place at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is in charge of arrangements.
Ossie was born on August 11, 1935 in Charleston, MS the son of Walter and Odessa (Hamond) Smith. He married Linda Collier on September 29, 1981 in Saulk Village, IL. She survives in Anchor. His parents preceded him in death.
Other survivors include one son: Ossie B. Smith Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; one daughter, Leslie Carr of Gulfport, MS; two step-children, Brandon (Shelly) Litherland and Brandy Litherland both of Illinois and twelve grandchildren.
He served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
