Owen Eugene Fagot , 62, of Fairbury, died at 10:30 am, Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at his residence in Fairbury.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, February 15, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in Avoca Twp. Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation with the family will be from 9 to 11 am, prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Cremation rites have been accorded and Duffy-Pils Memorial Home; Fairbury has charge of arrangements.

Owen was born October 29, 1951 in Peoria, IL; the son of LeRoy and Margaret (Warwick) Fagot. He married Trudy Streib on June 20, 1980 in Pontiac. She survives in Fairbury.

Other survivors include one brother, Paul (Mary) Flint of Aledo, IL; one sister, Marcia (Roger) Scherr of Fairbury; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Dane M. Scherr in 2006.

Owen was a 1969 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School. He was employed at Wolf Battery, Pontiac and later NAPA Auto Parts in Fairbury and Pontiac for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairbury. Owen was a man a few words, but his gentle spirit and sensitive heart said more than any number of words could say.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to First Baptist Church of Fairbury or OSF Hospice.
