Patricia Ann Barrera , 50 of Pontiac, died at 6:34 am, Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at her residence in Pontiac.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, January 24, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Fairbury, with Pastor Brian King officiating. A time of fellowship and sharing of memories will follow the service also at the church in Fairbury.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family of Patricia Barrera. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Patty was born February 15, 1969 in Jackson, MS; the daughter of Elmer Doyle and Nancy (Mullen) Nichols. She married Joseph Barrera on December 11, 2004 in Hattiesburg, MS. Her husband, Joseph survives in Pontiac.

Other survivors include three sisters, Lisa (Pat) Frascogna of Madison, MS; Amy Nichols of Brandon, MS; Heather (Brian) Humer of Flowood, MS; one brother, Timothy Nichols of Madison, MS; step daughter, Ana Alicia Barrera of Chicago; step son, James Paul Barrera of Colorado and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents and one brother, Steve Nichols, preceded her in death.
