Patricia L. Hartman, 96, Fairbury, passed away at 3:10 pm Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Patricia was born on October 9, 1927 in rural Cutler, IN to Russell and Elva Aldine Miller Bell.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert, and two sisters, Betty Click and Helen Chapman. An infant daughter Jeanne died in February of 1951.

She married Vernon Hartman on November 23, 1945, in Long Beach, CA, while he was in the Air Force.  Vernon died on May 27, 2012. Surviving are one daughter, Donna (Dale) Banwart, and one son, John (Rosemary) Hartman, both of Fairbury.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Carmen (Paul) Kilgus, Mark (Judy) Hartman, Ryan (Lori) Hartman, Grant (Amy) Hartman, Janelle (Jeff) Stoller, Joel (Lanae) Hartman, Dana (Matt) Knapp, David (Melissa) Banwart, Denise (Rodney) Steidinger, and Drew (Hannah) Banwart, 45 great grandchildren, 22 great great grandchildren, and 2 sisters-in-law, Joann Hartman, Bloomington and Betty Hibner, Naperville.

She was an employee of Dave's Supermarket and Walton's Department Store after Donna and John were raised as well as companion to a lifelong farmer.  Her faith, family, and friendships were her great treasures in life.  She often remarked that she wondered where in this world she would be if she had not met Vernon!  She was a member of the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church for 71 years.

Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and 9:00 to 9:45 am Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury.

Her funeral will follow at 10:00 am Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with Ministers of the Church officiating.  Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.  The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.
