Cropsey – Pauline Dorothy Beyer, 98, of Cropsey passed away at 5:20pm on January 21, 2010, at Gibson City Annex, Gibson City.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax. Fr. Carl LoPresti will be officiating.
Burial will be in Cropsey Cemetery, Cropsey.
Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm on Monday, January 25, 2010, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.
"Sis" was born November 11, 1911, in Ford County the oldest daughter of Fred and Rose Kerber Brucker.
She married Marvin Wilbur Beyer on January 7, 1937, in Gibson City. He died January 7, 2000.
Surviving are one son, Jerome (Janet) Beyer of Cropsey; one daughter, Jeanne Kay of Winter Garden, FL; grandchildren, Kelly (Brad) Bartholow of Kampala, Uganda, Jennifer (Jim) Freehill of Melvin, Lea (Tom) Russo of Winter Garden, FL, John Beyer of Lombard, and Julie Lee of Pontiac; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Will, and Jessica Bartholow, Ben, Jessica, and Amanda Freehill, Alex, Taylor, and Isabella Russo, Zach, Ethan, and Emme Lee; one sister, Helen Althouse of Gibson City Hospital Annex; one niece, Vi (Dick)Egger of Decatur , and one nephew, Marty (JoAnn) Althouse of Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister Lillian Monahan.
"Sis" was a devoted farm wife, an excellent cook noted for her pies, and enjoyed gardening and sewing for her family. Her family offers special thanks to the staff at the Gibson City Hospital Annex for their excellent care for the past five years.
Pauline was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or Gibson City Hospital Annex.
