Chenoa–Phyllis Ann Adams, 89, of Chenoa passed away at 3:14 am, Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the Inn at Evenglow, Pontiac.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm. Wednesday, April 1st, 2026 at Christ Community Church, Chenoa with Pastor Tim Huber officiating. Interment will follow in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 pm, Wednesday, April 1st, 2026 also at the church in Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to SELCAS, Fairbury.
Phyllis was born January 31, 1937 in Bloomington; the daughter of Homer and Mildred (Morgan) Hankins. She married Charles Clifton Adams on April 2, 1953 in Jeffersonville, IN. He passed away February 17, 2012. Two brothers, Bill and Homer Hankins also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Russell (Debbie) Adams, Monticello; Roger (Donna) Adams, Pontiac; Paul (Lori) Adams, Chenoa; Keith Adams, Bloomington; one daughter, Peggy (Dale) Cashmer, Flanagan; one brother, Larry (Carol) Hankins, Normal; one sister, Connie (Ed) Parker, Ellsworth; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons.
Phyllis was a member of Chenoa Baptist Church, Chenoa and served our Lord and Savior in many different capacities, doing whatever she could to grow the Kingdom. The Adams’ enjoyed many years camping as a family and square dancing as a couple. She also enjoyed reading, researching genealogy and needlework. Phyllis’ attention to detail and her sweet smile will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
