Obituary
Phyllis J. Ambrose, 80, of Fairbury died at 6:20 pm Sunday, February 3, 2008 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Mrs. Ambrose was born September 23, 1927 in Fairbury, IL, the daughter of John F. and Ida Denniger Somers. She married F. Van Ambrose on July 13, 1946 in Fairbury. He died March 13, 2001.
Surviving are four sons, Michael V. (Suzanne) Ambrose, Sugarland, TX, P. Thomas (Linda) Ambrose, Fairbury, John C. (Lynn) Ambrose, Panama City Beach, FL, Richard J. (Mary) Ambrose, North Platte, NE and one daughter Kathleen M. (Randy) Menke, Cherokee, IA. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, John (Pete) Somers, Vince Somers, Claire Somers, Kenny Somers, one sister, Mary Gunn and a daughter, Patricia Ann Ambrose.
Mrs. Ambrose was a homemaker, a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Chenoa at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorials be given to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Fairbury.
