Phyllis "Skip" Jeanette Karcher, 78, formerly of Forrest and Lady Lake, FL passed away at 11:30 am Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at her daughter's residence in Pekin, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with the Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Twp. Cemetery, Forrest.
Visitation will be noon to 1:45 pm Sunday at the memorial home. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Hospice of Methodist Medical Center, Peoria.
Mrs. Karcher was born June 1, 1931 in Marion, Indiana the daughter of Lyman and Ruth Stroup Moore. She married Robert Karcher on April 16, 1950 in Forrest, IL. He died March 9, 2001.
Surviving is a son Xen (Cindy) Karcher, Forrest; one daughter, Kandis (Jon Clem) Rathmel, Pekin, IL, her mother, Ruth Moore, Piper City, IL, two brothers, Max (Vickie) Moore, Chatsworth, IL, Jack (Shirley) Moore, Mattoon, IL, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father and a daughter, Kay Karcher.
Mrs. Karcher had formerly been employed at the Forrest Post Office and the First State Bank of Forrest.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed music and traveling.
