Obituary
R. Scott McDonald, 52 of Fairbury, passed away at 8:48 am, Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at his residence in Fairbury.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Friday, September 6, 2013 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Pastor Steve Anderson officiating.
There will be a visitation from 9 to 11 am prior to the service also at the memorial home in Fairbury. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be directed to the Community Cancer Center, Normal, IL.
Scott was born October 10, 1960 in Pontiac; the son of Ronald D. and Sue (Clark) McDonald. His parents survive in Fairbury.
Other survivors include his children; John McDonald of Lincoln; Liza McDonald of Fairbury; Jayde McDonald of Coal City; one brother, Jay (Renee) McDonald of Fairbury; three sisters, Kimberly (Javier) Lopez of Gridley; Kelly McDonald of Fairbury; Mari (Ryan) Meunier of West Lafayette, IN; three grandchildren, Allizae, Alauna and PJ Scott McDonald all of Fairbury.
Scott was a 1978 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and a 1980 graduate of Joliet Junior College with a degree in Culinary Arts. For over 30 years he was Co-Owner Operator of McDonald's Family Restaurant in Fairbury. He was famous for his baking and most notably his pies. He loved spending time with his family and cherished the time he had with his grandchildren.
