Rejina K. McCulley, 93, of San Antonio, TX and formerly of Fairbury, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Regent Care Center, San Antonio.

Jean was born November 16, 1920 in Humboldt, IL the daughter of Charles Barr and Jane Taulbee Teel. She married Walter S. McCulley on August 3, 1940 in Morganfield, Kentucky.

Surviving is one daughter, Gloria Palacios, San Antonio, TX, one son, Walter D. (Birgit) McCulley, Cullom, IL, five granddaughters, two great granddaughters, four great grandsons, one great great granddaughter, one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Teel, Chatsworth, IL, several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Bessie Knapp and one brother, John Teel.

Jean graduated from Arcola High School in 1938 and then moved with her husband to Saunemin, IL and worked for Morton Printing in Pontiac. She and her husband then moved to Texas where she lived for nineteen years. After her husband's death she moved to Fairbury and worked at the Blade Newspaper and continued to enjoy her hobby of rock collecting, silversmithing and giving lessons.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury and helped sew quilts for Lutheran World Relief.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 am Monday, March 17, 2014 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Tom Krieger will be officiating. Burial will be in Five Mile Cemetery, rural Saunemin. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
