Richard Lynn Brucker, 63, Cropsey died at 3:17 pm Wednesday, June 9, 2010 near his residence in Cropsey after injuries sustained in a farming accident.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 14, 2010 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Colfax with Fr. Carl LoPresti officiating. Burial will be in Cropsey Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with a prayer service at 7:45 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Colfax or the Cropsey Fire Department.
Mr. Brucker was born August 19, 1946 in Fairbury, IL, the son of Lawrence Allen and Vera Lorraine Thomas Brucker. He married Charlotte J. Ryan on August 7, 1971 in Northlake, IL. She survives in Cropsey.
Also surviving are three sons, Derek Adam Brucker, Cropsey, Dustin Allen Brucker, Kihei, Hawaii, Dagan Andrew Brucker, Cropsey, one sister, Elaine (Bill) Mies, College Station, TX, two brothers, Paul (Janice) Brucker, Sun Prairie, WI, and Thomas L. Brucker, Chatsworth, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Brucker was a 1964 graduate of Fairbury-Cropsey High School and a 1970 graduate of Eastern Illinois University. He was employed at State Farm Insurance for 36 years retiring in 2006. He was lifetime farmer in the Cropsey area and served as the Cropsey Fire Chief for Octavia Fire District for 20 years. He also was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Colfax.
