Richard C. "Dick" Jennings, 90 of Chenoa, died at 12:43 am, Monday, January 11, 2016 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
A celebration of Dick's life will be held at the Brown Jug in Chenoa on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 2pm -5pm.
Richard was born September 10, 1925 in Columbus, OH; the son of Harry W. and Theresa (McKay) Jennings. His life-partner for over 40 years Leda Thacker survives him in Chenoa.
Other survivors include one son, Mike (Joyce) Jennings, grandchildren, Michael Jennings, Jr., Rick Jennings, Wendy Sherman, all of Columbus, OH; William (Janis) Thacker of Chenoa; and two grandchildren, Jake and Jessica Thacker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Vicky Whitten.
Dick was an avid golfer and car enthusiast. He loved the outdoors and hunted regularly in the mountains of Colorado. He retired from General Motors and was a member of the Guild Athletic Club in Columbus, OH; as well as an honorary Colonel in the Metro Warbirds. He never knew a stranger and was often the life of the party. He will be missed.
