Obituary

Richard E. Miller, 80, Fairbury died at 5:00 am Monday, May 2, 2011 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury with Rev. Charles McDonald officiating. Inurnment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury with full military rites conducted by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion posts. Visitation will be 12:30 to 2:00 pm Thursday also at the memorial home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mr. Miller was born January 16, 1931 in Carlock, IL the son of Julius and Katherine Greiner Miller. He married Thelma Ann "T. Ann" Coyle on June 29, 1956 in Bloomington, IL. She survives in Fairbury.

Also surviving are two daughters; Juliene Rae (Alan) Longworth, Downs, IL, Ellen Jo (Warren) Longworth, St. Joseph, IL, two sisters; Mary Scheets, Dorothy DeVore, both of Bloomington, IL, one brother; Julius (LaMoyne) Miller, Springfield, IL, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by a brother, Raymond.

Mr. Miller served in the US Army during the Korean War. He later was employed at Honegger Feed for 18 years and Farmer's Grain for 22 years.

He was a member of the Tarbolton Masonic Lodge #351, John Joda American Legion Post #54 and the Fairbury VFW Post #9789. Rich was an avid Cub fan and sports enthusiast.
