Richard L. Metz, 80, of Fairbury, passed away at 9:15 am, Monday, October 12, 2020 at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a private family inurnment in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac or OSF Hospice.

Mr. Metz was born December 19, 1939 in Fairbury; the son of Edward and Edna (Downes) Metz Jr.   He first married Donna Hussemann and later married Linda Therien on January 30, 1993. His wife Linda survives in Pontiac.

Other survivors include four step-sons, Raymond & (Sonia) Sharrow of Converse, LA; Eric (Katie) Sharrow of Lexington; Ryan (Kathe) Sharrow, El Paso; Jason (Stacey) Sharrow of Clinton; 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; nine nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews and best friend, Terry Killian of Lexington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lloyd and Harold Metz and his first wife Donna (Hussemann) Metz.

Richard was a truck driver for over 40 years, employed by Nussbaum Trucking, Normal and Nuway Trucking, Bloomington.
