Richard A. Roberts, 77 of Fairbury, died at 5:25pm, Friday, October 25, 2019 at his residence in Fairbury.

Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to OSF Hopsice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Richard was born July 31, 1942 in Michigan, a son of Earl and Betty Kyler Roberts.  They preceded him in death.  He married Lavonne Harms on April 2, 1977 in Fairbury.  She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Roy (Angela) Rodrick of Dwight, Laura (Shane) Souba of Peoria, Allen Roberts of Germantown Hills, Tad (Laura) Roberts of Gilbert, AZ, Susan (Michael) Glowacki of Fairbury; one step-son, Mark Taylor of San Francisco, CA; twenty grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sandra (Rick) Dawson of Fairbury.

Richard was a graduate of Ellsworth High School Class of 1960.  He was employed at Pittsburg Tube for over 40 years reaching the rank of Maintenance Supervisor.

He loved gardening and finding any reason to be out in his yard.
