Paxton – Richard Elmer Roman, 91, of Paxton, passed away at 6:58 pm, July 4, 2026, at Arcadia Care, Watseka.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 10, 2026, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.

Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.

Richard was born February 2, 1935, in Peoria, the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Alkire Roman. He married Donna Small. She died December 6, 2023.

Surviving his daughters Becky Roman of PA and Laura Roman-Siliceo of St. Louis, MO; step-daughter, Erin (Ray) Umble of Paxton; step-son, David Cochran of Durango, CO; grandchildren, Callie Cochran, Aiden Siliceo-Roman, Abe Geidel, and Kenny Cochran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Richard was a banker at MB Financial in Elmhurst and last operated the Dairy Queen in Paxton for six years.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the Lion and Kiwanis Clubs and The Service Club in Paxton.

Richard enjoyed all Illinois sports teams but was a lifelong and avid CUBS fan.
