Obituary
Richard S. Saunders, 81, of Fairbury formerly of Park Forest where he was a resident for 35 yrs, died January 26, 2007 at 11:58am at his residence.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2007 from 1-2:00PM at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home in Fairbury. Funeral will be on Monday, January 29, 2007 at 2:00PM also at the funeral home. Rev. Tom Krieger will be officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes or Heart Fund.
Mr. Saunders was born March 24, 1925 in Toledo, OH the son of Cecil and Lillian Saunders. They preceded him in death. He married Regina Konarski on September 3, 1966 in Chicago. She survives. Also surviving are one sister-in-law Wanda L. Potempa of Paletine; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Zimmerman of Kenosha, WI, Carol and David Haddix of Sylvania, OH, David and Kathy Dennis and Richard Dennis all of Toledo, OH.
Mr. Saunders was preceded in death by one sister Helen Dennis.
He is a veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII.
He was accepted in the Mensa Club. Richard was an avid Railroad collector and he loved football.
He will be missed immensely by all.
