Fairbury – Rita Ann Brown, 64, of Fairbury, passed away at 8:19pm, February 8, 2022, at OSF St. James-John Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.

Her funeral will be held at 11:00am, Monday, February 14, 2022, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Her nephew Pastor Mike Herrera will be officiating.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Rita was born August 2, 1957, in Berwyn, the daughter of Kenneth and Betty (Scott) Niesmann, Sr. She married Robert Brown on February 21, 1978. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother Betty Niesmann of Pontiac; son, Chad (Michelle Bagley) Brown of Graymont; sister, Kendra Herrera of Carol Stream; nephews, Mark (Hannah) Herrera of Everton, AR and Mike (Rachel) Herrera of Carol Stream; several great-nieces and nephews; and best friend, Janice Singer Eble.

She was preceded in death by her father and brother, Kenneth Niessmann, Jr.

Rita last worked at Dave's Supermarket, Fairbury in the meat department. She also cleaned homes.

Rita was a genuinely loving person and care giver at heart. She had a special love for her cats and she always had a smile and a hug.
