Obituary

Robert T. Jacobs, 87, of Chenoa passed away at 12:35 am, Monday, July 9, 2012 at Evenglow Lodge, Pontiac.


Graveside inurnment will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 13, 2012 at Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa with Pastor Dan Patterson officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.

Bob was born August 28, 1924 in Pontiac; the son of Theodore and Blanche (Elson) Jacobs. He married Mattie Runyon on August 26, 1950 in Chenoa. She survives in Pontiac.

Also surviving are one daughter, Julie Jacobs of Schaumburg, IL; two sons, Jerry (Christy) Jacobs of Wildwood, MO; Jim (Colleen) Jacobs of Flower Mound, TX; two sisters, Mary Inman of Peru, IL; Shirley (George) Scott of West Chester, PA; one brother, Richard (Stella) Jacobs of Chenoa and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter in-law, Gretchen Jacobs.

Bob was a Chenoa High School graduate and served his country during WWII in England as a B-17 Ball Turret Gunner in the US Army Air Corp. He was a life-long farmer in the Chenoa area. He was a member of the Chenoa VFW post #8350, Ben Roth American Legion post #234 and an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Chenoa. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
