Obituary
Robert D. Kline Jr., 74, of Saybrook formerly of Ava, IL went home to be with the Lord at 7:33 am, Monday, May 29, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Robert was born on March 28, 1943 in Chicago, the son of Robert and Norine (Shawtell) Kline Sr. He married Kyoko Kedabana on April 30, 1965 in Naha, Okinawa, Japan. She preceded him in death October 15, 2009. His parents and one daughter, Angela Kline also preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Wendy (Ken) Wilber of LeRoy; and Barbara Kline of Bloomington; one sister, Carolyn (Chuck) Bish of Florida, many cousins in the Chicago area, and several nieces and nephews in Georgia and Arizona.
We extend our appreciation to the EMTs and hospital staff of Gibson City, Saybrook, and Urbana. And a special thank you to Dan, Ali and Nick. A retired electrician, Bob proudly served in the US Marine Corps and had various hobbies. He loved cooking, gardening, building hobby models, and his Scottish Terriers.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a private family graveside inurnment to be held at a later date in Dawson Cemetery, Ellsworth. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax has charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to your local VFW or American Legion in honor of those who have served in our armed forces.
